If you're craving some seriously mouthwatering barbecue in Billings, Montana, then you have to check out Blues Bbq. This spot, located at 523 Hilltop Rd, has become a local favorite for anyone who loves flavorful smoked meats and a relaxed atmosphere. Whether you're a long-time barbecue enthusiast or just looking for something new to try, Blues Bbq delivers a fantastic dining experience.

From the moment you walk in, you’ll notice the laid-back vibe of the place. The rustic decor, friendly staff, and the delicious smell of barbecue in the air immediately set the tone for a great meal. The menu is packed with classic BBQ options that are hard to beat. Ribs, brisket, pulled pork, and sausages are just the start of what you'll find here. Each dish is expertly smoked to perfection, offering deep flavors that stand out without being overwhelming.

One of the highlights of Blues Bbq is their smoked ribs. They’re fall-off-the-bone tender with just the right amount of char and a smoky richness that is hard to replicate. The sauce options are varied too, from tangy and sweet to spicy, giving you the chance to customize your meal to your taste. Many customers rave about how the sauce complements the meat without overpowering it. The pulled pork is another favorite, slow-cooked and shredded to perfection, making it easy to enjoy in a sandwich or just as is, with a side of coleslaw and baked beans.

If you're someone who likes variety, then the BBQ platters at Blues Bbq are a great choice. These plates come with generous portions of different smoked meats, so you can sample a little bit of everything. Whether you're with a group or dining solo, you’ll find the platter to be an ideal option to try out more than one dish.

For sides, the mac and cheese is a standout - creamy, cheesy, and just the right texture. It pairs perfectly with any of the smoked meats and adds another layer of comfort to your meal. The fries are crispy, and the cornbread is soft and sweet, which gives you a nice balance to the savory meats.

Blues Bbq also takes pride in their attention to detail. The wood used for smoking is carefully chosen to enhance the flavors of the meats, and it’s clear that the staff takes the time to perfect each dish. Every bite is packed with flavor, and it’s easy to see why so many people come back time and again. The consistency in the quality of food speaks volumes about the restaurant's commitment to their craft.

Of course, no visit to a BBQ joint would be complete without a cold drink to wash it all down. Blues Bbq offers a variety of refreshing beverages, from classic sodas to local craft beers, ensuring there's something for everyone. The drink options complement the food choices, making the whole experience more enjoyable.

For those who prefer to enjoy their BBQ from the comfort of their home, Blues Bbq also offers takeout, so you can savor the delicious flavors wherever you are. This place always serves delicious smoked tri-tips, ribs, sausage, and other meets. The sweet potato side dish was done perfectly.

It was amazing. Was my first time having it and I was shocked. Fast, not to expensive and so good in flavor

This is a great hidden gem of a BBQ location! The food was melt in your mouth goodness! The salads were all homemade not to mention their dry rub and sauce pairs perfectly! Don't miss the best BBQ in the west!

I was a little skeptical since this place is in a gas station. However the staff were very friendly, my table was clean, and the BBQ was excellent. Mind you this is coming from a person that BBQs in -10 snow storms. I would go back!

Great local BBQ spot. Brisket was great, lots of side options. I'd stop here over fast food any day of the week. Food took less than a minute after ordering, people are friendly and welcoming If you are visiting Billings and want to hit a local lunch spot I'd 100% recommend.

Great find, hands down the best BBQ in Montana thus far. From the Super friendly and knowledgeable staff to the clean dining room, this place is all around a great find. Don't let the fact that they are located inside a gas station fool you. They have their own dining area that is as clean and stocked as any stand alone establishment I've ever been to. The tri-tip was cooked just right with a really good smoke ring and delicious bark. The shredded pork is fantastic, juicy tender and really tasty. (Going for the shredded pork sandwich on my next visit). The Baked beans were good along with the coleslaw. If you are looking for a great BBQ that reminds me of the quality of meat back in South Florida give these guys a shot I promise you will not be disappointed. No less than 10 local hard working gentlemen purchased food to go while I ate and I bet they don't settle for mediocre direct BBQ for lunch. Overall a great experience.
